    Description
    1940 Ford Pickup
We are in a day and age where both parts makers and builders are going to new heights in the automotive world. If you want to make a big splash with your vehicle, you will need to be creative and use new ideas that others have not conjured. Yes, there are a number of aftermarket companies that help us modernize these vintage haulers, but you will need to add your own special touches in order to create a unique ride that will get noticed. -Thx Fuelish Media/Motor Trend.
For consignment, a 1940 Ford Pickup truck that is not your typical '40 Ford. Exit the farm truck and enter fabulous! All behaved in burnt orange, shaved of trimmings, and bumpers this custom hot rod truck now has a 350ci V8, power disc brakes in front, and a beautiful bed and interior. A show condition that will show others who's boss.
    Exterior
The 1940 sheetmetal was worked straight and shaved of a few items, like the door handles and drip rails. Up front, headlights were Frenched into the fenders, and we are now rolling sans bumper. Also, the grille has been removed and in keeping the same form body matching vertical wide ribs now harken back to the original. A note to the lower line on the front of the truck, as it's like a reclining nude, curvaceous, appealing and wildly attractive. A bulbous hood is now fabricated from fiberglass. The cab retains its round sculpted shape and is now utilizing black window trimmings all around. Molded into the hood and made of fiberglass, the gracefully undulating fenders roll up and down in their rounded form and melt into a running board which extends to the bed forming a "step side" just prior to the curved rear fender. Around back, the bed tailgate has been simplified, the rear bumper shaved, and tail lighting is now within the rear roll pan. The bed is topped with a totally surrounding eyebrow center shaped cargo cover in black vinyl. 15-inch Eagle polished 5 spoke wheels are now on all 4 corners. Burnt orange paint has a few areas showing cracking, some scratching on the drivers back of the cab, and a few areas of chip off are noted by photos.
    Interior
We've taken what was once utilitarian and now made it pure hot rod glitz for the interior. Door panels are using custom embossed panels wrapped tightly in tan tweed and have a truck graphic above the armrest embossed into the panel. In front a metal dash painted in burnt orange has been simplified to a single metal panel and has white faced chromed bezel VDO gauges peppering it with engine vitals for the driver. Fronting the dash is a late model steering wheel and two high back buckets also wrapped in tweed. Nice clean dark tan carpeting floods the floors and in the center rising toward the metal painted headliner and driver's hand is a Lokar shifter. A note to the bed, it is solid steel lined and comes with a protective cover.
    Drivetrain
A swing of the fiberglass hood now hinged forward, gives us full access for any potential wrenching we may want to do. You'll be doing it on a beautifully looking 350ci V8. It's topped with a 4-barrel Holley and the intake has been cleaned to perfection, probably to team up with the chromed valve coverings, and chromed air cleaner covering on top. On back is a 700R4 4-speed automatic teaming up with a 10-bolt rear. Great engineering on this mill with some silver headers and an ignition protective custom covering having been fabricated.
    Undercarriage
Utilizing a frame from an S10 along with the suspension, and we have a beautiful build for the undercarriage. All totally rust free Flowmaster shiny exhaust is snaking its way to the rear exit. For the front, independent coil spring suspension is now in, and on back leaf springs remain. Power disc brakes are now upfront, and on back power drums.
    Drive-Ability
Turn the key and put a smile on your face. It is that easy to start and drive! A wire pull at the bottom of the doors allows us a secret access. The test track just loved this truck as did the truck the test track! Powerful smooth acceleration, automatic shifting through the gears was good, and all functions were up to snuff on this truck.
Old trucks are really hot right now and we have several to choose from. This one is a highlight due to its customization and ease to drive all the while looking classic yet tastefully modified. Burnt Orange Metallic is calling your name (Rosebud!)
