Exceptional Matching Set of Two Art Pottery Vases designed by Fratelli Fanciullacci for Elbee Italy dating from c.1960 with corresponding hand markings to the underside "8208 Italy" (Very Rare)
We are offering this extremely rare set of 2 matching vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian studio art pottery vases designed by Fratelli Fanciullacci for the renowned Italian ceramics producer Elbee dating from c.1960. Each vase features 3 incredibly stylized lions with line and geometric artwork and rich surface textures. The colour is a speckeled turquoise with soft green, brown and white. Each vase measures approximately 8" height by 4.5" diameter and has a 3" opening. This set was acquired from the original owners and was previously maintained and displayed with great care. The vases are in excellent condition with no damages. There may be only the most basic indication of use. The vases have matched hand-marked production number "8208 Italy" to the base (see last photo). Collectors should note matched vases with corresponding production numbers are almost unheard of. Beautiful as a standalone Italian decorative art set or in a larger Mid-Century pottery or ceramics collection. All photos are of the actual item for auction.
