    Description

    Mid century modern architect Ralph Rapson created exceptional travel drawings and sketches throughout his career, celebrated in books and in museum shows. This one of Mykonos in the Greek islands was done in 1976 on paper with pen and marker. Triple signed by the artist including signature double R mark. Many of his drawings are in the book Ralph Rapson: Sketches and Drawings from Around the World.

    Professor Rapson was Dean the University of Minnesota Architecture School for 30 years. The current Architecture building by Steven Holl is named in his honor. He studied with other modern masters including the Eames and under Eliel Saarinen at Cranbrook and worked for him. Taught at MIT and the Bauhaus school at the University of Illinois.
    This drawing was purchased directly from Mr Rapson at his home in Prospect Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sold framed in archival quality solid oak frame. A large piece measuring 24x28”. Ships fed ex home delivery, insured and with signature confirmation.
