Used primarily for racehorses as a comfortable and humane alternative to tongue ties that are used to keep horses from getting their tongue over the bit. Mainly used on racing d-ring snaffles, but can be used with most bits. If a rubber but guard fits your bit, this one definitely will - notice the slits that allow for expansion over larger bits unlike most bit guards. Can also be used for training young horses, jumping, barrel racing, trail riding, etc.. Check regulations if showing in judged events.
